Mr Wright

For the past few days  and until the end of term, Mr Wright has been in our class. He is a helper for everyone with their work . He is  teaching us new games and helps us with the basketball team .  He was with us at rock da house . Mr Wright helps us in maths. He used to be a Nelson Giant and he does some fishing and reads the fishing paper -  he is very jealous of Daniel going to the Chathams for a fishing and hunting trip.

On the sunny day of the 31st of July all of room 1 

participated in the red cross people savers course.One thing we learnt was how to put a bandage on someone and do a elevated sling. 






We also learnt to put someone in the recovery position.It was amazing to find out that a small person can roll over a fattie.





We also learnt two ways stop people from choking you can do the back blows or the chest thrusts (usually in transition).

Rock da house !!!

ROCK  DA  HOUSE

For the past month Rm1 and some of Rm2 have been singing lots of songs. It was really tiring most of the time but it was all worth  it because on Tuesday 27th of August we all performed with lots of other schools at Rock da House. This all took place at the Trafalgar Centre. It started at 7.30pm. We all had brightly painted glasses that we had prepared the week before and used them up on stage. It was great fun !!! 

For one of the songs called Mighty Quinn, I/Danielle was the air guitarest and played the air guitar up on stage. It was a bit nerve wracking but really fun . We also had flouro clothes on and there was an altra violet light that made our clothes GLOW . 

ROCK DA HOUSE was so awesome. It finished about 9.00pm so the next day at school we where really tired .

Gonna Rock Da House!!!!

In a few weeks Room 1 will be participating in Rock Da House 2013. Sam R, Lareiahna, Jane and Eva have been lucky enough to get into the specialist choir and they are hooked up on microphones and sing the harmonies. It has been really fun practicing the songs in the morning. Paulette (Mrs Knott) and John have also came out and helped us. It's great to see people already getting their clothes and glasses ready (hint hint). Tickets are now available at the office so by now, you won't want to miss it.  
P.S. We steal the stage on Tuesday 27th of August. 

Stop! Discovery Time

In term 3 we have started discovery time.The topic is flight but there was a exception for the Red Cross fake blood and bandages.So if you want to invite scarlet to your house be careful because she is a vampire!!!

This fake blood is made by red food colouring and golden syrup
and tastes really nice and sweet.






There were five other activities to do with flight.
In this picture Isaac and Felix are doing a kite challenge.The aim of the
challenge was to make a kite or just something that flies and try lots of different ways to get it to fly five metres.Different ways of throwing would make different effects, well thats what we learnt.

For the past week a gang of room one boys have been making a small scale zipline. They have gathered loads of materials  and info in design and stuff like weight.The crew where a big help to this big success.Each person played a very important roll in this success. These are the people in crew.
